About Me
Hi, my name is Anastasiia Solodkaia and I am a senior software engineer.
I have been passionate about programming since I was 8 years old, and I am grateful to everyone who has supported me on this journey. It all began with simple languages like Pascal and Basic in 1995, and now I have used countless programming languages over the last decade.
Throughout my 14+ year career, I have been fortunate to work with leading companies such as Oracle and UBS. As an experienced engineer, I have been involved in various tasks, ranging from development and architecture design to mentoring junior developers. I have found that the success of junior developers largely depends on the quality of their education and the guidance of their mentors at the start of their careers.
This is why I am launching new online private and semi-private courses through the {{ enCode Lab }} initiative.

My mission is to empower aspiring software engineers with the education they need to succeed in the field. To achieve this, I offer a customized curriculum tailored to each student's existing skills, personal needs, requests, and preferred pace of learning.
For private students the curriculum is based on collective interests and includes opportunities for hands-on experience through team collaboration and project work.
For semi-private student groups curriculum is created based on collective interests and includes team work and hands-on experience with team collaboration instruments.
For more experienced individuals mentorship is available to help them create practical projects that showcase their skills and abilities.

Not Only Code
Software engineering is just one aspect of my life. I believe that a well-rounded life contributes to a better work experience, and hobbies can provide a different perspective.
Contrary to popular belief, software engineers are not dull or boring. From my experience, it's hard to find a more vibrant and creative community than the software engineering community. Everyone has their passions, and everyone is passionate about them.
Hiking is a personal passion of mine. I've explored most of the trails in the UAE and my favorite trails are in Ras Al Khaimah. The rocks in that region are stunning, creating breathtaking patterns. However, the rest of the UAE has its own beauty with stunning mountain ranges, deserts, and oases. One of my recent hikes was in Wadi Al Ghona, in the heart of Masafi, which was an easy but incredibly beautiful walk with many ponds and small waterfalls.
Arts has always been a big part of my life. I studied ballet and music throughout my childhood, played the domra and sang in a choir. Now, I'm into improv and comedy, and sometimes perform on stage as a beginner. I am also passionate about playing the piano, especially jazz and blues.
Water sports are another favorite pastime in the UAE. With its stunning sea, it's always a delight to spend time alone on a SUP or kayak with friends in the mangroves, or to scuba dive in the waters of Fujeirah.
Travel is an essential part of my life. When I lived in St. Petersburg, I would spend many summer weekends riding my bike in beautiful Finland. Since the pandemic, I've slowed down on traveling, but I still hope to get back on track and visit KSA, South Korea, and other countries.
